We both share a passion for books, and our studio produces at least
a dozen books for clients large and small each year. Book commissions
come from publishers, book packagers, institutions, or the authors
themselves. What unifies our approach in each case is a sensitivity
to the way a book's form infuses its content. To tailor our sense
of craft to the book's individual needs, we use every tool available
to us as designers, including typography, materials, sequence, color,
scale, and imagery. Often, our love of language takes us beyond
simple discussions with authors and publishers, and we become involved
in projects at an editorial level.
