Established
in 1812, The New England Journal of Medicine is the most important
medical journal in the world. Lasting 18 months, the redesign involved
a substantial set of overhauls to the Journal's structure: two typefaces
were customized, figures and tables were given improved graphic
standards, a copy-safe color palette was devised, and editorial
innovations were introduced. Our work with the Journal has continued
with branding and site development for Journal Watch, which informs
primary care physicians and specialists about new and upcoming medical
developments.
Design firms: Winterhouse
and Pentagram.
Art directors: William Drenttel and Michael Bierut.
